Welcome to our blog, a place where you will find our musings, commentary and opinions on all things related to retail, restaurants and hospitality. Look to us for lifestyle tips and trends in fashion, food, exercise and more.

You may be thinking, “Why would I turn to a Commercial Real Estate company’s blog for advice?” Let me tell you why…  MSC Retail is recognized as a national leader in the retail real estate and hospitality industry. We are an urban-centric firm with a boutique mentality. We pride ourselves on having an “uncorporate” corporate structure. Over the last 25 years we have completed more food and beverage transactions in Center City Philadelphia than anyone else. Bottom line – we are the retail group that is more responsible for the stuff you read about on Eater, Racked, Curbed, Uwishunu, NakedPhilly, FooBooz, etc. than anyone else in our area. Just take a look at the projects we brought you over the last 12 months:

Suit Supply, Flywheel, Uniqlo, New Cook & Solo projects, Little Nonna’s, Honeygrow, Ocean Prime, Luke’s Lobster, Hip City Veg, Zavino, Joe Coffee, Estia, Pure Barre, Yogorino, Shake Shack, Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza… you get the idea, right?

Headquartered in Philadelphia, with an office in New York City, we spend a lot of time exploring the emerging neighborhoods and thinking about how we can revitalize neighborhoods on the fringe.  Our MSC University division is the premier national retail real estate consulting and advisory firm and works coast to coast to improve the student experience through retail.

We are a very active bunch. With clients such as FlyWheel, Pure Barre and the new FlyBarre we kind of have to be… Our tri-athletes and half-marathon competitors have a lot to share on workout tips and trends, even if they can be found crushing concretes at Shake Shack or enjoying a cocktail at Alla Spina.

All our content is about what we care about. If you have an idea, want to collaborate, or just think we are flat out wrong on something reach out to me. If you want to just sit back and reap the benefits of our years of knowledge and work, that’s OK too.
