Founded by restaurateur Greg Dodge, Zavino Hospitality Group features two Mediterranean influenced concepts with multiple locations, and additional concepts in the works.
Zavino, a charming corner kitchen in Philadelphia’s Midtown Village neighborhood is widely acknowledged as one of the city’s best pizzerias and wine bars. The casual Italian fare includes nightly entree specials, such as braised meats and hand-made pastas alongside Zavino’s famous wood-fired pizzas and the city’s best by-the-glass wine list. The Philadelphia Inquirer reviewer Craig LaBan awarded Zavino a coveted “Two Bells: Very Good” review that called their pizza “better than 98 percent of the competition,” and raved over the restaurant’s nightly chalkboard specials.
In early 2014, owner Greg Dodge opened a second location in University City offering an expanded menu along with an extended in-house charcuterie program.
Zavino’s sister restaurant, Tredici Enoteca, opened across the street from the original Zavino in Midtown Village in the spring of 2016. Tredici features an extensive wine list, a raw bar and a contemporary Italian menu with a broad spectrum of influences. Tredici’s bright, airy atmosphere and lively bar keep this corner hot spot bustling seven nights a week.
